They do work well, however, I have 3 bulldogs and I think I'd be broke quickly if I invested in the number of bags I would need to take care of all of their waste...I am using the bags but just can't use them that much. Plus the toilet will plug up if I put too much inside the bags. But they work fine for smaller amounts and I let it sit for a while before flushing. It's a great idea, but think this would work for smaller dogs... Our dog has been using an indoor potty, so these are very convenient to just throw in the toilet as opposed to smellng up a trash can or having to take it to to the dumpster right away. We always followed the directions to let it soak in the toilet for 15-20 minutes before flushing, and these have worked beautifully. Right now, we're in a heatwave and these bags have held up pretty well. My dog is a 55-lb. Vizsla male and he usually poops twice on his walk but not always. I use one bag for each poop and as soon as I get home, I immediately throw the bag/s in the toilet but do not flush. At some point I go back to the bathroom, the bags have broken up, and then I flush. I have zero issues with the bag or the toilet and I don't have smelly poop in my garbage can! Woof! Bought these on a friend's recommendation. I was skeptical about two things: 1) how they would hold up with dog poop on a long walk (45mins), and 2) how they would do with my toilet. Very pleased to say that they exceeded my expectations. First, the bags have a very nice feel to them - you can actually pick up after your dog without "feeling" the poop too much. Second, there was no issue carrying the bags around for a long walk - in 80 degree weather. When I got back home, the bag was still totally intact. Now, for the real test... flushing them. In my toilet at home, the bag (full of poop) goes down the first try - no problem. I've flushed through about 30 now, and each time the same result... In my sister-in-law's toilet, its a little bit trickier though - she has a low-flow toilet (weak flush). I asked the company about that and they advised I let the bag sit submerged in the toilet for about 15 minutes before flushing, and bingo, it softened enough to make... My family and I try to be reasonably environmentally conscious. We compost our fruit and vegetable scraps. We recycle newspapers, cans, and bottles. We drive a Prius. Having said that, the act of depositing plastic-wrapped dog waste in the garbage has always made me feel guilty. Nevertheless, in terms of sanitation and aroma, it seemed the only thing to do. Recently, I came across a mention of Flush Doggy dog poop bags while roaming the Internet. My first thought was, "Now THIS is creative! Wonder if it works?" I'm pleased to say it DOES work. The biodegradable waste bags are strong and easy to use, and we haven't had any flushing or plumbing problems. I use a twist tie to keep the bag closed (a little smelly, you know), then remove it before flushing the "poop package". Easy as anything! I used to use the plastic bags and turn them inside out and pick them up and flip it around and tie it and throw it in my trash. It spelled TERRIBLE. I couldn't mask the smell at all!! I tried air fresheners, candles - EVERYTHING...and Reggie's poop won the war! I searched around the internet to see how other people living in apartments were able to get rid of the terrible odor. This is not exactly the most exciting product ever, but I don't usually dance for joy when I buy toilet paper either. Using doggie poop bags is just a fact of life for a lot of us. There are many legitimate reasons why it is necessary not to mention some legal ones. Up until now, I was only aware of the plastic bags. Now, I don't have to worry about hurting the environment because I am taking care of my dog. Instead, I can use these, and are they easy to use. It's easy to pick the stuff up without a mess, and it's super easy to dispose of. I recommend doing so as soon as your dog is back home after doing his or her business. That way, you don't have to worry about it drying out or anything like that. The bag gets soft enough in the water to flush easily. Just make sure it's not tied. If you have to, and there is a proper place to do it, you can throw them out, too. The added bonus is that every purchase you make goes toward helping other animals, and you can't beat that!
